Large fossil Pecten scallop shell found while searching for fossil Megalodon shark teeth.
Recovered from the (Pliocene) Yorktown Formation of an ancient seabed in North Carolina.
Great preservation with cool barnacles. Solid and heavy. Nice symmetrical shape.
Beautiful shell.
Measures 3.96" W.
